ASTM A139 Pipe

ASTM A139/A 139M covers five grades of electric-fusion(arc)-welded straight-seam or helical-seam steel pipe. Pipe of NPS 4 (Note 1) and larger with nominal (average) wall thickness of 1.0 in. [25.4 mm] and less are covered. Here we can produce spiral welded pipes in acc. to such standard. The sizes are from 8” to 120”.

Reliable Pipes & Tubes Ltd. is PED approved manufacturer & Govt. of India recognized Export House, established in 1975. We are supplier of Pipes, Tubes, Tubing, Pipe Connection, Tubular & Oil – gas piping materials for CBM field, Oil & Gas field, exploration drilling sector companies.

We are able to supply the full range of tubulars to Oil & gas Industry on an ex-mill basis, including several ‘premium’ connections and the relevant accessories. We are also able to facilitate additional slotting, perforating and internal/external coating, as required.

WHAT IS ASTM A139 WELDED PIPES?

ASTM A139 Gr. B Steel Pipe, ELECTRIC-FUSION (ARC)-WELDED STEEL PIPE supplied to Oil & Gas Industry

ASTM A-139 ASTM A139 Grade A, ASTM A139 Grade B, ASTM A139 Grade C, ASTM A139 Grade D, ASTM A139 Grade E

This specification covers five grades of electric-fusion (arc)-welded straight-seam or spiral-seam steel pipe in 4″ to 92″ inclusive with wall thickness up to 1 ” inclusive.

Pipe having other dimensions may be furnished provided such pipe complies with all other requirements of this specification and the grades of steel of the manufactured pipes. The pipe is intended for conveying liquid, gas, or vapor.

Standard specification for straight seam or spiralweld casing pipe

Outside Diameter: 1/8 – 26 (Nominal)
OD Tolerance: +/- 1%
Wall Tolerance: +/- 12.5%
Mass: +10% -5%

ASTM A139 Welded Pipes Weight

The weight of any length of pipe shall not vary more than 10% over the specified weight.

The weight of any length of pipe shall not vary more than 5% under the specified weight when the specified wall thickness is 0.188″ or less or more than 5.5% under when the wall thickness is greater than 0.188″.

ASTM A139 Welded Pipes Thickness

The minimum wall thickness at any point shall be not more than 12.5% under the nominal wall thickness.

ASTM A139 Welded Pipes Circumference

The pipe shall be substantially round. The outside circumference of the pipe shall not vary more than 1.0%, but not exceeding ¾ in. from the nominal outside circumference based upon the diameter specified, except that the circumference at ends shall be sized, if necessary, to meet the requirements of Section 15.

ASTM A139 Welded Pipes Straightness

Finished pipe shall be commercially straight. When specific straightness requirements are desired, the order should so state and be agreed upon between the purchaser and the manufacturer.

A hydrostatic test with a stress no less than 60% of the minimum yield at room temperature shall be performed on each piece by the manufacturer.
